| DCM announces MC for Kalakote, Tehsildar to be Executive Officer | | | Early Times Report KALAKOTE, DEC 16: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has reiterated the commitment of the Coalition Government headed by Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah to provide basic amenities of life to the people especially in far-flung, and rural areas of the State. The Deputy Chief Minister during his tour to district Rajouri, addressed several public meetings at Sunderbani and Kalakote today. Tara Chand said that the Government has adopted a comprehensive strategy for all round and equitable development of the State, adding that the Government would take all measures to come up to the expectations of the people. He said that UPA Government have made liberal funds available to the State for overall development and prosperity of the State adding that all leftover projects would be given priority and completed to benefit the poor population in the State. He said that Coalition Government has announced a unique and comprehensive employment policy to provide employment to the educated un-employed youth. Mr. Tara Chand stressed upon the workers for strengthening the NC- Congress alliance for balanced development of the State. He also called for maintaining the communal harmony and brotherhood for the best interests of people and asked for strengthening the secular fabric of the State. MLC, Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil, in his speech, said that network of road projects which is imperative for development, has been started by the Coalition Government and appealed for implementation of welfare schemes honestly to benefit the genuine people belonging to weaker sections of the society. He hoped that the coalition Government would succeed in its endeavour to make J&K a prosperous State. Among others, who spoke to the gatherings, include MLC, Kalakote, Mr. Richpal Singh, Former Minister, Mr. R.C. Sharma, MLC, Mr. Jehangir Mir, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, SSP Rajouri, General Secretary JKPCC, Mr. Vinod Sharma and District President, Mr. Vipan Kumar. Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister laid foundation stone of two roads and 2000 GPH capacity water supply scheme filtration plant at Sunderbani. At Kalakote, Mr. Tara Chand announced Municipal Committee for Kalakote. He also announced grant of Rs 30 lakh for the construction of building complex for the Municipal Committee. He said the Tehsildar Kalakote will act as executive officer of the committee.
