| CITU protest against price rise | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 16- The state unit of Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU ) held a dharna and demonstration in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office here today in protest against the steep rise of prices of essential commodities . The dharna was led by Javaid Zargar, working president of CITU, J&K.
Om Prakash, General Secretary, CITU, J&K while addressing the dharna said that the spiraling rise in prices of essential commodities has broken the back of the general masses especially working class and low income group. Urging upon the central as well as state governments to take immediate steps to bring down the prices of essential commodities, he said that the situation needed to be dealt on war footing. The working class has been hit badly due to the price hike of essential commodities, he added.
Javaid Zargar, urged for strictly enforcing the labour laws in the state besides creating national social security fund for all unorganized sectors in the state.
