Jora inaugurates JK Bank extension counter at Yatri Bhawan

Jammu, Dec 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Bank, opened its fully computerized Extension counter at Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatri Bhawan, Bhagwati Nagar here today which was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora.
The minister appreciated the initiative of the bank and complimented it for making the banking services available to the people of the state at their doorsteps. He was all praise for the visionary leadership of the Bank Chairman Dr. Haseeb Drabhu for his keen focus on the state and expressed hope that the bank would play a major role in the implementation of the employment generation policy recently announced by the Chief Minister Omar Farooq.
Earlier, in his welcome address Madan Gupta, Vice President, Jammu Central Zone of the bank, said that the bank is committed to provide the world class banking facilities in every nook and corner of the state. He said that whereas the tourism department of the state under the aegis of Jora has been doing a yeomen’s service in propagating and projecting the innate beauty of the state, the J & K bank was no less concerned in empowering the people of this great state. He further said that the bank had been providing the services of a mobile van during the Yatra period but now with the operationalization of this counter the banking services would be available round the year which would immensely be beneficial to the local people, staff of the Tourism department and the business community at large. He informed the gathering that the bank’s products are tailor made and suited to the requirements of all sections of society and appealed the public to make the best use of these services. He thanked Tourism Department for providing free space to the bank for opening the counter.
Director, Tourism, S. M. Sawhney said that the new service outlet should also be a vehicle for passing on incentives as enunciated in their new policy. He assured all support to the bank and expressed optimism that this extension counter would soon be converted into a full fledged branch.
