| Sharma demands Degree College for Sunderbani | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: MLC Ravinder Sharma has demanded early opening of degree college at Sunderbani besides immediate taking up of the construction work of a degree college at Nowshera. This he said during a weeklong tour of various parts of Sunderbani and Nowshera beside he took stock of the problems of the people and various development activities in the area. Sharma impressed upon the local administration and the developmental agencies to accelerate the speed of their activities in various spheres of welfare and development in order to translate the efforts of the coalition government in the state and the Congress led UPA government to come up to the expectations of people and make all round progress in all parts of the state. He urged the chief minister Omar Abdullah to consider the long pending and justicied demand for degree college at Sunderbani and desired that one out of the eleven degree colleges sanctioned for the state be opened in this area. He also visited a number of sites around Sunderbani town alongwith civil administration to identity suitable places for shifting the veterinary hospital and poultry from from existing place near CHC hospital Sundebani in order to make available more space to the CHC. Besides the site for proposed sports stadium, modern fruit and vegetable mandi were also inspected. He asked the administration to accelerate the process in this regard as decided in the meeting of the district development board. Meanwhile, Sharma also condoled the sad demise of Shri Chuni Lal Sharma of Sunderbani, who rendered yeoman services of the society and served the education department with commitment and dedication and offered his post retirement life to the service of society as acting chairman of Swami Vivekanand charitable and educational trust. Sharma visited his residence and offered condolences to the family members and friends and prayed for peace to the departed soul. Sharma also conveyed condolences to Master Tulsi Dass Sharma, prominent Congress leader of Sunderbani over the demise of his young son. He expressed his sympathies with the family members and prayed peace to departed soul.
