| Jora backs Rs 100 Cr Patnitop ropeway project | | | Early Times Report Jammu, December17- To ensure timely execution of Patnitop-Kud Ropeway Project, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 100 crore, a high level meeting, chaired by Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora, today discussed various issues related with the development of the project. The project would give further boost to tourism related activities in the areas and add to its aesthetic beauty. Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani, Secretary Tourism and Culture, Mrs. Tanveer Jahan, Secretary Law, Mr. G.H. Tantray, Additional Secretary Tourism, Mr. Altaf Hussain, Director Tourism Jammu, Mr. S.M. Sahni, Chief Executive Officer, Patnitop Development Authority Dr Akram Malik, Chief General Manager and General Manager, Patnitop Ropeway and Resorts Ltd. Hyderabad were present in the meeting. Threadbare discussion was held to remove impediments coming in the way of timely execution of the project. It was told that appropriate measures would be taken to get all issues sorted out. The Minister impressed upon concerned authorities to take the matter with Advisory Committee of Tourism and Forest Departments at the earliest so that the recommendation be forwarded to Central Empowerment Committee for necessary approval. Mr. Jora asked the officers to work with close coordination for removing other bottlenecks coming in the way of execution of the project. He also directed that the matter for forest clearance should be sort out with Forest Department so that necessary compensation would be paid to the department for the land for afforestation.
