| KPs say no compromise on status of Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 17: The Delhi unit of All State Kashmiri Pandit Committee (ASKPC) in an interaction with people of the community and others at New Delhi stated that any attempt that brings Kashmir out of the territorial and constitutional organization of India would be resisted with tooth and nail. Here the nation and leaders running the polity of Indian state needed to be reminded of unanimous resolve of 1994 of the parliament on Kashmir, which says that being the indigenous people of Kashmir, the kashmiri Pandits have full faith in and adherence to the accession and treats it as full and final. There is absolutely no scope for any politicking on the subject. Staking the claim that Kashmiri Pandits are important part of any negotiation of Kashmir issue, Kundan Kashmiri Gen Sec. Delhi ASKPC said, that Kashmiri Pandits believe that they are first and natural claimants of the territory of Kashmir and further deem the exodus of the Pandits has added a different dimension to the whole Kashmir issue. The Kashmir issue can not be shed away by the government in context of the issue of displacement and re-settlement of the indigenous people of Kashmir the Kashmiri Pandits, at their choice. Kundan further stated that nationalist forces of the state have become victims of the backdoor politics on Kashmir a number of times in the past which made situation so complexed and point of no return for Kashmiri Pandits to their actual locations, villages and towns in the valley. Hence quite dialogue and diplomacy is veiled as an appeasement to separatism and isolation of nationalist people (KP’s) who have faced genocide, exodus and ethnic cleansing have the first stake to any negotiation on the Kashmir imbroglio. Kundan Kashmiri further demand the issuance of a white paper enacting what led to exodus and ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley, declaration of Kashmiri Pandits as internally displaced persons as per the guiding principles on the internally displaced persons adopted by the UN High commissioner for human rights. Declaration of all the properties sold by the displaced persons after 1989-90 as “Distress Sales” and in consequence declare the sales as null and void and preparation of national policy on Kashmir by the government of India and defining the role of Kashmiri Pandits in it.
