| LJP demands delimitation for equal development | | | Early times Report Jammu, Dec 17: A meeting of LJP was held under the chairmanship of Sanjeev Manmotra, its working president. In the meeting the LJP leaders stressed that the delimitation is the great need of the hour to ensure the equal development for the betterment of the general masses. Creation of constituencies, on the basis of area and population is dire for justice in the development. Some districts having few lakh populations and some more then lakhs can not have right benefit of the development for district. This is dire injustice in which only districts are counted and considered for the allotment of funds and not the number of people involved. Sanjeev further said that the people of Jammu region have strived hard to get injustice for the last more than 60 years but now they have realized that it is impossible to get justice in the present political set up of the state. The need of the hour is to create separate state of Kashmir region and Jammu region and granting union territory status to Ladakh region and also to constitute districts councils with sufficient powers so that the development process reaches at the grass root level. He also urged the central as well as state government that the rising of prices of essential commodities have broken the back of the general masses especially working class and low income groups and the government should take immediate steps to bring down the prices of essential commodities.
