| 5 CRPF men, a civilian injured in militant grenade attack in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 18 : Five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and a civilian were injured in a militant hand grenade attack at Sopore, about 55 km from here in north Kashmir district of Baramulla this afternoon. No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack. Official sources said the militants hurled a hand grenade towards the CRPF personnel of 179 Batallion, guarding State Bank of India (SBI) at main town Sopore. The grenade exploded near the bank resulting in injuries to five CRPF personnel, one of them critically, and one civilian. The injured were admitted to hospital. A report from Baramulla quoting eyewitnesses said the security forces deployed in the area fired some shots in the air after the blast. This was the first such attack in the apple township of Sopore during this month.
