| Academy holds Urdu Mushiara | | |

Jammu Dec 18: In order to provide Urdu poets a platform for narrating their verses, the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised an Urdu Musharia at KL Saigal Hall at Jammu Friday.
The mushaira was presided over by Arsh Sehbai while Additional Secretary Cultural academy Savita Bakshi and Pritpal Singh Betab also shared the presidium.
Several prominent poets and members of the civil society participated in the mushaira. In today's Urdu mushaira organized by the Academy many prominent poets participated. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Pritpai Singh BctBb, Rahat Hussain, Khurshid Kazmi und Arsh Sehbai among others.
To start with the Secretary Academy, Zafar Iqbal Manhas informed the gathering that the Cultural Academy had opened an independent Urdu section and recruited new staff so as to promote and develop Urdu, which also happens to be the official language of the state.
Concluding the mushaira Additional Secretary, Cultural Academy Savita Bakshi presented the vote of thanks.
