| Technocrats bid to ‘gherao’ Omar foiled, another critical | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 18: An attempt to ‘gherao’ the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah made the by the protesting agricultural technocrats today was foiled by the police in this winter capital. The technocrats, who were sitting on ‘fast unto death’ for the past two-weeks, tried to ‘ghearo’ Omar outside a Ziarat, where he had gone to offer Friday Prayers this afternoon. Annoyed over government s attitude, hundreds of technocrats, following the critical condition of yet another techno identified as Purshotam Kumar of village Vijapur, marched towards the Dogra Chowk and disrupted the vehicular movement. ‘The Chief Minister, who was just few meters away from us, did not even bothered to know the ill plight of the technocrats, who are on fast unto death for the past so many days,’ a leader of All Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Technocrat Association told He alleged that the ignorance of the Chief Minister hints that he do not want to resolve the issue and settle their demands. ‘When we tried to approach him, police did not allow us to meet Chief Minister of State. Government should take serious steps to meet our genuine demands as every time, we were being assurances but nothing concrete has been done so far on the ground,’ the leader of agriculture technocrats added.
