| | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec18 - Central Bureau of nvestigation/Anticorruption Bureau registered a case against RK Kaith then Manager Canara Bank Shalimar Road Jammu, Rajinder Bhardwaj Manager Citizen Cooperative Bank RS Pura, Rohit Bhardwaj son of Rajinder Bhardwaj resident of Maghowali RS Pura and unknown officials/officers of Canara Bank and Revenue Department Jammu for cheating bank to the tune of Rs.65 lakhs. Rohit Bhardwaj, his father Rajinder Bhardwaj in connivance with RK Kaith and other bank and revenue officials entered into a criminal conspiracy with an object to cheat the Canara Bank to the tune of Rs 75 lakhs and in furtherance of the same prepared alleged false and forged documents and used the same as genuine to cheat the bank and thereby caused a huge loss to the Government exchequer, which prima-facie constitute the offences u/s 120-B, 420, 467, 468 and 471 RPC r/w section 5(2), 5(1) (d) of J&K PC Act. According to the FIR Rohit Bhardwaj applied for loan of Rs 75 lakhs i.e. term loans of Rs 25 lakhs and CC limit of Rs 50 lakhs from Canara Bank Shalimar Jammu in March, 2007 for establishment of Rice Mill at Deblehar RS Pura under the name and style of New Kissan Rice Mill. His father Rajinder Bhardwaj Manager in the Citizen Cooperative Bank RS Pura stood guarantor and furnished the sureties besides other mortgage deed on May 7, 2007 to facilitate financial assistance to his son from Canara Bank Jammu. The physical check of all the mortgaged properties were carried out by RK Kaith then Manager Canara Bank Shalimar Road Jammu wherein he has falsely mentioned that Rajinder Bhardwaj Guarantor is the owners of 25 Kanals of land. On the basis of information furnished by the Revenue Department and bank officials, loan of Rs 25 lakhs as well as CC limit Rs 50 lakhs were recommended by AK Mehta then Manager Canara Bank Shalimar Road Jammu and same was sanctioned by NK Saini then Chief Manager Canara Bank. Based on these alleged false documents, the bank sanctioned above two loans in favour of Rohit Bhardwaj which were used by him for his own ends and no repayment was made to the bank as a result of which the loan turned NPA.JNF
