| UGC workshop on women empowerment concludes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 19- A five day UGC sponsored workshop on “Capacity Building of Women Managers in Higher Education” at GGM Science College held with the aim to sensitize and enhance the managerial potential of the women in higher education concluded here today.
From UGC Dr Pam Rajput was the core group resources person of the workshop whereas Dr Poonam Dhawan was the local coordinator of the workshop.
On the concluding day today Manual on Women and Research was jointly presented by Dr Shashi Koul and Prof Kotwal from GCW, Parade Jammu.
The ultimate message of the workshop was to promote women to leadership position to enable them to reach the positions of their male counterparts, besides creating gender friendly institutional policies and hospitable environment for men and women to work together to promote an attitude of encouragement amongst women who aspire for leadership position.
It may be mentioned that GGM Science College, Jammu plans to organize another SAM workshop in near future which will be residential in nature, for which the grants have already been sanctioned by the UGC.
