Jammu, Dec 19- Horticulture Department, at a function held at Panchayat Garh, Nagrota today, distributed cheques amongst 42 local orchardists as a token of encouragement for ensuring high survival rate of planted fruit trees. Local MLA Jugal Kishore who presided over the function distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 2, 58, 649.
Addressing the orchardists, Sharma said that this endeavor was on the pattern of what horticulture department has been doing in Kashmir valley where fruit growing has attained great heights. He exhorted them to put in efforts to ensure fruit growing becoming profitable and lucrative calling. He assured them of all possible efforts and benefits of various government schemes.
Subash Chander, Ashu Sharma, Girdhari Lal, Sunil Sharma, Asha Ram, Ajay Singh, Gopal Krishan, Ram Lal, Ashok Kumar and Mansa Ram were present on the occasion.
