| Basic amenities for all tops Govt.’s priority list: Slathia | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 19: Minister for Industries and Commerce Mr. S. S. Salthia on Saturday said that the government was committed to provide better facilities of road connectivity, adequate drinking water and power besides civic amenities to the people of the all the three regions of the Sate. He said that the prime motto of the Government was to improve the living standard of people, especially who belongs to weaker sections of the society. The Minister was addressing series of public meetings at Trait Basti, Radma and Baraota villages of Samba district.
Earlier, the Minister inaugurated Rs. 70 lakh Tube Well at Trait Basti. On the occasion, he said that it would benefit more than 15, 000 souls of the area adding that installation of the same has fulfilled the long pending demand of the area. He said the installation work on 2nd tube well is in full swing.
Responding to the demands put forth by the locals, Mr. Slathia directed the CA&PD authorities to distribute flour, rice, sugar among the consumers by December 25, 2009. He also asked them to organize a camp and distribute K. Oil among the consumers of Trait Basti by 25th of this month.
Referring to the demand of black topping of lanes, the Minister directed the concerned for early execution of the same.
