Jammu | Dec 19: Sixteen government officials were today suspended for unauthorised absence from duty in the GP Fund office at Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesperson here said.
''District Development Commissioner (Rajouri) J P Singh suspended 16 officials of GP Fund Office during a surprise check,'' the spokesperson said, adding all the suspended officials were found absent from duty. The suspended officials included Examiners Ram Sarni, Mohammad Rashid, Head Assistant P R Raina, Senior Assistant Majid Hussain, Senior Assistant Mohammad Yaqoob, Compilors Mohammad Hussain, Babu Ram, Zaffar Hussain, Mineer Hussain, Madan Lal, Assistant Compilors Girdhari Lal and Ravi Dutta, Account Assistants Zia-ur-Rehman and Tanveer Ahmed and orderlies Ramesh Chander and Mohammad Iqbal.
