PM to raise Mum blasts evidence with EU leaders
10/7/2006 9:48:57 PM

New Delhi, Oct 7 Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will raise with the leadership of Britain and the European Union (EU) next week India's concerns over cross-border terrorism in the backdrop of recent evidence that Pakistan's ISI and terror outfits based there were behind the July 11 Mumbai serial blasts.

"We will certainly raise it (issue of terrorism). We will be discussing all issues, which include our recent experiences as victim of terrorism," Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon told reporters here.

He was replying to a question whether the evidence unveiled in the Mumbai blasts would be discussed when Singh meets British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen.

Menon was briefing media on the six-day visit of the Prime Minister from Monday to the UK and Finland, during which the issue of civil nuclear cooperation will also be discussed. Singh is visiting Helsinki to attend the India-EU Summit.

"We will bring them up to date with India's experience as victim of terrorism," the Foreign Secretary said, adding the two sides will discuss what could be done as common effort to defeat terrorism.

New Delhi has already shared evidence with regard to the Mumbai blasts probe with the US.

Mumbai Police last week said that probe into the serial train blasts had revealed involvement of ISI, Lashker-e-Toiba terror outfit based in Pakistan.
