| MLA Ramban distributes cheques worth 5.70 lakhs | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Dec 20- MLA Ramban Ashok Kumar today distributed cheques, as second installment to each of the 19 shelter-less and poor families of Batote town, living below poverty line, for construction of houses under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Program (IHSDP),at Batote.
The MLA distributed Rs.5.70 lakhs among the beneficiaries at a function which was among others attended to by President Municipal Committee, Batote, Ravinder Singh and its Executive Officer, Abdul Lateef Trak and other prominent local citizens and officers.
Under this centrally sponsored scheme each beneficiary is given an non-returnable amount of Rs.90, 000 for construction of their houses.
It may be recalled that the first installment was distributed by the Union Health Minister and former Chief Minister, J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad in July last.
MLA also distributed engagement orders to seven women who have been appointed as Rehbar-e-Taleem (RETs).
