AJMER, Dec 20: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said the situation had rapidly improved in his State.
Talking to reporters after performing ziyarat at the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti’s durgah here, Mr Abdullah said "Kashmir has now recovered from the brunt of terrorism and the situation is returning to normal. Accordingly, around 30,000 armymen have been sent back from the State". He said that the army was removed from the civilian areas only but it would continue to guard the LoC and sensitive frontier areas. Over a question about ban on pre paid mobile service in the border state, Mr Abdullah said that was done in the wake of security related concerns.
Earlier, Mr Abdullah paid obeisance at the holy tomb and prayed for peace and tranquillity in his state and the country.-
