| PDP finally awakens to its duty terms employment policy eyewash | | | CHAMAN KAUL JAMMU, DEC 20: Finally, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has awakened to its constitutional duty of playing healthy opposition. After more than half a month of its announcement, PDP patron Mufti Mohmmad Syeed termed much hyped employment policy named after Sheri-I-Kashmir Employment and Counseling as nothing but eye wash for the lakhs of unemployed youths of state. Mufti said that policy framed is inadequate as hardly any unemployed youth is worth get benefit of this employment policy due to its critical qualifying requisition as income bar, age bar and other all terms and conditions required. Monthly stipend is also distant dream for unemployed because it is not principled on the basis of ilk Britan and United States.
Anyway, in Jammu and Kashmir it is trend for the last sixty as any party enjoying power welcome all the decisions taken by Delhi and in opposition political parties have to agitate against it to make felt their existence. PDP is engaged in depicting its concern for masses of the state for about last ten months by exhibiting protests. Agitation against special arms power act, pre-paid cell phone mania and Shopian imbroglio are the main to be listed. Directly or indirectly these all issues are related with government of India affairs. But employment for local youth by local politicians and leaders was a homely task.
National Conference in its election manifesto has said that party is engaged to formulate concrete employment policy for unemployed youth of state and it took NC one complete year to bring it out for the youth. Instead of hope and content unemployed youth feel cheated and political parties like PDP, BJP, JKNPP and other groups in opposition rejected the policy by terming it mere eye mere wash.
It is relevant to mention that natural calamities, terrorism, corruption and poverty like issues humanitarian issues and need to be solved with human heart. Similar is issue of unemployment world across, which need to be solved refraining political interests. All party meetings, confidence building measures and world conferences for various issues are eye opening examples being held in past as well as will be held in future. Which could lead a concrete solution to problems like unemployment in the state?
Political critics are of view that every political party in the state is power greedy and will prefer to perform in old way politics to gain political mileage over the sentiments, region, religion and even with the future and livelihood of millions of unemployed youths of state. Critics suggested it would have been better to involve all political parties to formulate employment policy for youth to precipitate practically hope for them besides avoiding the possibility of opposition, which is not possible even in dreams as it will cost political power and leisure to those wish to compromise, they added.
