| BVS for overhauling Health Department; removal of corrupt officials | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 21- Strongly criticizing the working of the Health Ministry, Bhartiya Vidharthi Sena,( BVS), youth wing of Shiv Sena, has demanded overhauling of the entire department by removing the corrupt officials. In a meeting presided over by the state president Vikram Sharma, the BVS has alleged that the corruption was prevalent in the entire health department and the Government Medical College was no exception. Describing the ministry as a ‘defunct and collapsed’ Sharma said that BVS would take up the matter with the state Chief Minister and Union Minister so that some remedial measures are taken to improve the functioning of this vital department which has direct bearing on the health of the general public. He alleged that poor patients are being left unattended by the staff of the GMC, sometimes even for hours and there is no transparency in purchase of medicines and other diagnostic equipments including Ventilators and demanded a white paper on the purchases made in the health department.
