| ‘Rethink about demilitarization policy in J&K”: Ambedkar to Centre | | ‘Sampark Abhiyan’ from next month | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 21- Expressing his concern over the withdrawal of 30,000 troops from the trouble torn Jammu and Kashmir, Sunil Ambedkar National Organizing Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarithi Parishad (ABVP) has urged the Centre to rethink about its policy of demilitarization. Talking to media persons here today, Ambedkar said, ‘Demilitarization step of Centre Government is not acceptable in present scenario as terrorists are continuously trying to sneak inside Indian Territory’. ‘Government of India should re-think about its policy of demilitarization in view of the adverse political situation in neighbouring Pakistan and Afghanistan and increase in number of cross border attempts. Commenting over ‘Quiet Diplomacy’, Ambedkar said, ‘ABVP has no objection to dialogue process but is concerned very much to the techniques of process of dialogues as to whom should be involved in dialogue and on which basis and grounds dialogues should be conducted’. ‘Quite Diplomacy’ is again good but it should not be at the cost of national interest by indulging in discussing Pre-1953 status or all that as these are outdated concepts dragging back the society of fast moving 21st Century’, he mentioned. He informed that ABVP has entered in 60th years of its working in education field and to celebrate this year a ‘Sampark Abhiyan’ is to be conducted at National level and in J&K the same will be conducted from January 15-29, 2010 and a state level function will be held at Jammu on January 29, 2010. ABVP will adopt its future course of action on the feed back of student community on the issues of ecology, defence, education, employment, he added.
