| Peace imperative for economic development of sub-continent | | | Early Times Report KOTRANKA, Dec 21- ‘Saying that restoring dignity and honour of the people of the State and solving vexed Kashmir problem was his cherished dream’, PDP Patron Mufti Mohammed Sayed has asserted that he would strive hard to achieve this goal. Addressing an impressive gathering at Kotranka, Mufti said that one and only aim of forming PDP was to change fate of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and establish lasting and sustainable peace in this region. “Attaining power is not the aim of PDP”, he said and asserted that ‘whether in power or without, PDP would continue its struggle for mitigating miseries of the people of this State”. Exhorting the party workers to prepare themselves for peaceful struggle for establishing sustainable peace in the State, Mufti said that since its formation PDP has been propagating that violence was not solution of any problem. “Dialogue is the only means to solve all problems”, he opined and asserted that PDP would force both India and Pakistan to initiate concrete steps for solving this problem once for all. He said that no mentionable growth and meaningful development could be achieved without sustaining peace and normalcy. “Peace is imperative for progress and prosperity of the people of this region”, he observed and exuded confidence that PDP through its policies and programs would convince both India and Pakistan to give peace first priority. PDP patron said that in the form of self-rule document his party has presented a solution for resolving Kashmir problem. He, however, reiterated that his party would not impose this solution on the people of Jammu and Kashmir and rather try to evolve consensus on this issue. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Darhal, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali termed employment package announced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as “humiliation” to the educated unemployed youth. “We will not tolerate this injustice with the unemployed educated youth and come on streets to for these youth”, he said. “The publicized employment policy has proved as farce and cruel joke with the educated youth”, he said and exhorted the party workers to be prepared for launching a war against anti-people policies of this dispensation. PDP general secretary Balbir Singh, in his address called upon party workers to spread message of the party in every nook and corner. Former Rajya Sabha member Trilok Singh Bajwa, termed this regime as total failure and exhorted the party workers to come on streets to oppose anti-people policies of this dispensation.
