| Slathia asks filed agencies to promote self employment among youth | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 21: Minister for Industries and Commerce Mr. S. S. Slathia, has asked the field agencies to promote self employment among the youth by educating them about the available schemes and incentives. Reviewing functioning of the department, particularly District Industrial Centres, the Minister inquired about the status of acquisition of land and Infrastructural Development at proposed Industrial Estates, He impressed upon the officers to take effective steps for early development of these Industrial Estates so that the entrepreneurs do not face any difficulty in setting up their units.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojna and other self-employment schemes, he asked the field agencies of the districts to make it a point to be available at the door steps of the youth and pursue them to set up their units. He said educating them about incentives offered by the State and the Central Government could go a long way in attracting the youth towards self employment. .
Earlier, meeting was informed that Government is developing an area of 4896 kanals of land at an estimated cost of Rs. 8290.56 lakh besides, acquiring an area of 4294 kanals for new Industrial Estates at an estimated cost of Rs. 3075.00 lakh.
It was also impressed that since the implementation of Central Package, 2664 units were registered involving an investment of Rs. 735.14 crores and generating an employment of 21307.
Among others, Principal Secretary, Industries and commerce, Mr. Anil Goswami, Director Industries, and General Managers of Industries and Commerce department were also present on the occasion.
