| Folk festival concludes at Abhinav theatre | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 21- The six day long folk music and dance festival at Abhinav Theatre concluded today with several theatre groups staging their performance on Monday.
The performances of the day included Geetru by Khajoor Singh and party, Punjabi folk by Surpal and party. Naveen and Prikshit Dev, Rita Khatyal and a party of Uttrakhand also performed during the concluding day of the annual event.
Like the previous days, many people representing different shades of opinion watched the artistes perform at Abhinav theatre.
Interestingly, the folk music and dance festival which is conducted annually at Jammu began on December 15 and saw participation of large number of people.
During the six day event, besides folk music and dance groups of Jammu region, several folk parties from states like Punjab and Uttarakhand also performed before the people of Jammu who thronged the Abhinav theatre in large numbers during the festival days. Organized jointly by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, the folk music and dance festival is an annual exercise which is usually held in the month of December.
Prof Vijay Lakshmi, former Principal Government Women’s College, Jammu was the chief guest during the concluding day of the festival while Hardeep Singh Gill was the guest of honour.
