| Race hots up for State BJP President | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 21- Following change of guard at the National level the race for the post of State BJP Chief hots up in Jammu and Kashmir. Inside reports said that faction ridden state unit of the party is eagerly awaiting announcement of the new state unit Chief before bidding farewell to present Chief Ashok Khajuria, under whose command BJP won 11 Assembly seats in the 2008 Assembly elections. Party sources revealed that the party high command has carried out a comprehensive exercise before selecting name of the new state unit chief. "The exercise was conducted in a most transparent manner and feed back of the party leaders and members of the executive body, was taken well in advance to avoid bad blood" a senior party leader said. Though names of several ‘Young Turks’ in the state party unit are doing the rounds but according to party sources in New Delhi the responsibility would be entrusted on the shoulders of a seasoned leader. It may be mentioned that the state unit with a strength o 11 MLA's in the state legislature is a divided house. A group of MLA 's have ganged up together to project name of a junior BJP leader for the top post at the behest of veteran leader while stars are favouring another party leader, who is emerging front runner and strong contender for the hot seat.
