| Junior spikers miss quarters berth | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 21: Junior spikers from the state proved unlucky today when they missed the quarterfinals berth after reaching so close to the knock-out stages in the 36th Junior National Volleyball Championship underway at Bhubneshwar in Orrissa. Though J&K won four of the six league matches yet the side failed to make it to the quarterfinals round. In the last match, played today, J&K defeated Chattisgarh. As per the reports reaching here, two teams qualifying the knock-out stages are last year bronze medalist, Tamil Nadu and Kerela. J&K lost to both the qualifying teams of Tamil Nadu and Kerela. Earlier, in the league round, J&K defeated Uttranchal, Manipur, Goa and Chattisgarh.
