Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 22: While continuing the drive against the adulteration of Milk, the Municipal Veterinary Officer alongwith field staff visited the areas of Trikuta Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Sainik Colony, Marble Market, Channi Himmat etc & Checked 105 no’s of Milk canes in these areas, out of which 15 no’s milk canes were lifted & sent to Laboratory. A fine of Rs. 2700.00 was also reallzed from the erring milk vendors on spot. Also the team visited the area of , Janipur, Roop Nagar, Bantalab, Talab Tillo, Panama Chowk, Railway Road, Channi Himmat etc and lifted 14 no’s of stray animals. The stray animals were impounded to Municipal Cattle Pound and a fine of Rs. 5610.00 was realized from the owners of stray animals. Besides the drive against the adulteration in food items, an intensive checking of the food articles was undertaken by the checking team of food Inspectors headed by the Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation in the areas of Jewel, Nehru Market, B.C. Road, Indra Chowk. During the checking about 42 establishments of Halwai Shops, Dhabas, Meat Shops, Fruit Juice corner etc were checked. 18 no’s of cases were booked under the provisions of PFA. Act 1954 and J&K Municipal Corporation Act 2000. An amount of Rs 2200/- was realized as fine on spot from the defaulters and team also seized about 10 Kg of Polythene carry bags from the outlets in these areas.
