Early Times Report JAMMU, DECEMBER 22 – Director General of Police, Prisons Department, Dr. Ashok Bhan, inaugurated a DOEACC Extension Centre Jail Srinagar, here yesterday. The DOEACC Extension Centre has been started, following signing of an MoU between J&K Prisons Department and Department of Electronics Accredited Computer Course ( DOEACC) envisaging imparting of computer training to the inmates of the Central Jail, Srinagar to enable them to utilize this training to employee themselves after their release from the Jail. Similar centers have already been started in Central Jail, Kotbhalwal and District Jail Amphalla in Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhan, said that the training programme ‘Course on Computer Concept’ (CCC) has been started in three Jails. He said, 25 inmates from each Jail will be imparted training in the first batch adding that at the end of the training of this batch, the trained inmates will have to appear in the examination scheduled to be conducted in the month of May 2010, adding that the successful candidates will be provided certificates by the DOEACC. Objective of starting such training course is to equip the inmates with knowledge of computer which is becoming the most important career course in the present day world, Mr. Ban added Among others present on the occasion, included DIG, Prisons, Mr. M.
