| Shabir calls on Union Minister for I&B, | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, December 22-The Minister of State for Power and CAPD, Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan called on Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Mrs. Ambika Soni, last evening at New Delhi and demanded due representation to the Pahari and Gojri in various programmes of Doordarshan and Radio in Jammu and Kashmir.
Member Parliament, Mr. Madan Lal Sharma, was accompanying the Minister during the meeting.
The Minister apprised the Union Minister that J&K has a large chunk of Pahari and Gojri speaking population, adding that the people of these communities need to be acquainted with policies and programmes of the Government through electronic media. Mr. Khan pleaded that extension of time in Doordarshan and Radio programmes for Pahari language would prove very beneficial in this regard.
The Union Minister assured that all required measures in this regard would be taken in due course of time.
