Quality education tops on priority list: Dy CM

JAMMU, DECEMBER 22 –Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Tara Chand on Tuesday said that provision for quality education and its expansion tops the priority list of the present Government.
Mr. Tara Chand, who was the Chief Guest at Annual Day function of Maharaja Hari Singh Agricultural Collegiate School, Nagbani said that the Government has accorded priority to the education sector and besides opening of Universities, Colleges and School, the educational infrastructure is being developed in every nook and corner, especially in the rural and backward areas of the State.
“Education which is imperative for all round development of society also plays an important role in socio –economic development and building the nation, “ Mr. Tara Chand said, calling upon students to opt for vocational courses.
The Deputy Chief Minister stressed upon the teaching community to provide quality education to the students, enabling them to compete and face the challenges of present day life, adding that besides quality education, personality development and encouraging extra curricular activities is also essential.
Mr. Tara Chand said that the State is presently facing shortage of Urdu knowing Patwaris and Munshis in Police Stations and to run the Government offices and Courts Urdu knowing hands are required, adding that Urdu, the official language of the State needs to be taught in the educational institutions in a long way.
In view of its need in the Revenue, Courts, police and other departments, the Deputy Chief Minister enjoined upon the heads of schools to teach Urdu to the student’s atleast upto Matriculation.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister flagged off the rally of students of Delhi Public School, Jammu. Mr. Tara Chand on the occasion appreciating the students of the institutions for the rally. In his address, he said that global warning has hazardous impact on the ozone layer which acts as a shield for protecting the living organisms from the effect of U V Rays. He said that emission of flouro chloro carbons need to be curtailed and environmental friendly fuels used to lower carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere.
