MLA Ramban Ashok Kumar distributed the cheques of Rs.30,000, as second installment to each of the 19 shelterless and poor families of Batote for the construction of houses under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP),at Batote .
In a function organized by the Municipal Committee, Batote, Ashok Kumar distributed total sum of Rs.5.70 lakh among the 19 beneficiaries in presence of the President Municipal Committee, Batote, Ravinder Singh and its Executive Officer, Abdul Lateef Trak and other prominent local citizens and officers.
Under the central government’s sponsored scheme,IHSDP each beneficiary is given an non-returnable amount of Rs.90,000 for the construction of their houses.
The cheques of first installment were distributed by the Union Health Minister and former Chief Minister, J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad in July this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok advised the beneficiaries of IHSDP and ILCSS to utilize the money judiciously and regretted that because of communication gap between the concerned officers some poor beneficiaries are facing difficulty in availing the benefit under IHSDP.
Also, he distributed the engagement orders to 7 women Rehbar-e-Taleem (RETs) engaged at Kastoorba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Chanderkot, at City Middle Schol,Ramban in presence of CEO,Ramban, Dinanath , ZEOs of Batote, Ramban and, Banihal besides Principals,Headmasters,CRPs,ZRPS, teachers, local officers and prominent local citizens.
