| BSNL organizes Open House Session | | | Early Times Report

The people of Kashmir responded overwhelmingly to the Open House Session organized by the BSNL at Srinagar atleast after four years.
The Open Session chaired & presided over by the GM, BSNL and supported by DGM (Mobile), DGM(O&A), DGM (Planning), IFA, BSNL Franchisees, Direct Selling Agents and other BSNL Officers.
In the beginning the GM briefed through visual presentation, the developmental activities and future plans of the year in Kashmir Valley. He also informed that BSNL is serious about provision of 3G services in Kashmir Valley by March 2010 and the work is in progress. GMT BSNL expressed his inability in maintaining the Optical Fibre Cable Route (Media) as there is frequent interruption on the OFC media due to OFC cuts during the development and maintenance activities of the road ways beyond Ramban. In order to improve the reliability and redundancies some of the media network is taken on lease from Grid Corporation of India Limited. Also there are plans to introduce alternate OFC route along with Mughal Road via Rajouri to Jammu.
In the Open House Session around 48 complainants were interacted with the BSNL. GMT BSNL Kashmir assured that this type of Open Session will be conducted twice a year.
