| 2nd day of indefinite strike in JU; | | DSW confined in office | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 22- Continuing with the indefinite strike against the authoritative attitude of the Jammu University authorities, the students and scholars of the University today held protest demonstration across the campus on second day as well under the banner of National Secular Forum (NSF). The protesting scholars and students led by Vikas Sharma, NSF president, forced confinement of Dean Students Welfare and his officials inside the Department for nearly an hour. Sharma flayed Dean Student Welfare Prof J S Tara for maintaining stoic silence over the burning demands of the students which they have been highlighting since a fortnight and to which the University authorities have failed to respond. The Dean failed to convince the students and expressed inability to resolve their demands on the plea that matter was lying with the Vice Chancellor and only he has the authority to answer the same, Sharma pointed out. It may be recalled that NSF has called for an indefinite strike in the campus in protest against the failure of JU authorities to concede their demands that included punishment to the culprits of infamous episodes of marks tampering and B Ed examination and mass copying. The day to day work in the Vice Chancellor’s Chamber also remained paralyzed due to the strike. Among others who addressed the rally were Inder Pal Singh, Mohammed Maqeem Ansari ,Kamaldeep Singh, Mohammed Javeed, Rohit Sharma, Randeep Singh Chib, Sunny Bebbar and Jasvinder Singh.
