| LIC employees observe one hour strike, demand wage revision | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 22- The work in LIC offices all over Jammu and Kashmir state was paralyzed today as the employees observed one hour strike against the callous attitude of the management and towards their demands which are pending since August 2007. The employees under the banner of North Zone Insurance Employees Association struck work in their respective offices and shouted slogans in support of their demands. The employees, among other things are demanding, revision in wages. Addressing the protestors Pawan Gupta Divisional Secretary and AM Tantray Divisional President NZIEA Srinagar strongly opposed the decision of LIC management regarding the wage revision. They said that unless the management comes out with fresh improved offers, the industry is bound to find itself in a serious unrest. It was pointed out that the management cannot take shelter under the plea of restraints put by the government as it was their primary responsibility to reassert and convince the need of a good wage revision. Others who spoke on the occasion included Romesh Chand, Joint Secretary of the Association, Rajesh Gupta vice President, S K Bhat Treasurer, Raj Kumar, Dinesh Sharma and Vikram Singh.
