| St. Xavier Convent sec school celebrates annual day | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Dec 23: St. Xavier Convent sec school celebrated its annual day by presenting cultural items beside giving cash awards of Rs. 10,000/- - 5,000/- to position holders of 8th and 10th standard. Students obtaining merit in any subject were distributed cheques of Rs. 500/- per subject. Programme started with Christmas Carols followed by songs in English and Hindi, Punjabi Songs & dances, Gujarati Dhandia, Kashmiri Songs and dances, Teakwandoo and Yoga skills, Hindi songs and dance and ended with skit on Adam and Eve and last carol of Jingle Bells which created the real atmosphere as we witness on Christmas Eve. Students dressed as Santa Claus distributed sweets among the dignitaries which resulted in creating lot excitement among the children. The annual report of school was read out by the school Director H.R. Padha who highlighted the achievement created by the institution in the field of education. Which include schools children awarded at National and state levels. Ex- MLC M.S. Gill in his speech highlighted the importance of brotherhood and the growth of the institution. Rev. Sohan Lal, Priest of St. Paul’s church, blessed the gathering by praying for them and the whole staff and students of the school. The Sharma distributed Momentos, cash awards and certificates to the Position Holders and Merit Holders. The best teacher of the year went to Miss. Renu Sharma for her excellent result in Maths.
