| PDD daily wagers threaten to disrupt supply in J&K | | |

Jammu, Dec 23 : Daily wage employees of Power Development Department (PDD) today threatened to disrupt electricity supply across the state of Jammu and Kashmir if the government continue maintaining silence over their demands.
The daily wager employees of PDD are awaiting regularisation but the government was not accepting the demand, Tarun Gupta, president All J and K Daily Wagers Employees Union told reporters here.
Mr Gupta said they were demanding regularisation of only 3000 daily wagers, who have more than 15 years of service.
''As per government norms, the daily wager employees are to be regularised after seven years," He added.
''We have decided to go for a statewide blackout after December 28, if the government does not pay heed to our demands and failed to its suppressive measures,'' he said.
