| Bhim calls on Chidambaram | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 23- Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council today met P. Chidambaram, Union Home Minister and sought his urgent intervention in providing security cover to the Party activists in militancy prone areas of Jammu and Kashmir so that they could play active role in mobilizing people in the state, particularly in the valley against terrorism, militancy, corruption and discrimination. Prof Singh alleged that the Panthers Party is being discriminated by the State Chief Minister particularly on the issue of security cover in order to keep the Panthers Party out of political activities in the state. He said his party is the only political movement in the state which enjoys goodwill, support and acceptance of all sections of the society in Kashmir Valley. He said that the ruling National Conference is trying to create communal hubs in Doda and Poonch on the Dixon Plan to dissect the Muslim majority areas of Jammu from rest of the Jammu province. According to party handout P. Chidambaram is reported to have assured Prof Singh that he will write to the State government in this regard. In a letter to the Union Home Minister, Prof Singh also expressed strong resentment against the service providers who have started collecting Rs.99 per month from every pre-paid subscriber which is against the norms and the agreement service providers have signed with DoT on pre-paid mobile phones. He declared that he shall be filing a contempt application against the service providers who have been charging extra money in Jammu and Kashmir which will squeeze the ‘wretched of the earth’ of about Rs.40 crores every month in Jammu and Kashmir.
