| SICOP’s turnover likely touch to Rs 500 Cr | | | JAMMU, DECEMBER 23 - Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S. S. Slathia took a comprehensive review of the working of SICOP here today. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Mr. Anil Goswami, and other senior officers of Industries and Commerce Department. In the review meeting, Managing Director SICOP, Mr. R. K. Razdan informed that the SICOP has achieved a record turnover of Rs 294 crore ending November 2009 which has generated an income of Rs 7.18 crore. The Minister appreciated the overall working of the SICOP and informed that it was one of the few Public Sector Undertakings of the State that was having a viable financial base. He exhorted upon the officers to maintain the profitability of the company by evolving a futuristic working plans so that long term results are achieved. The Minister desired that the SICOP should endeavour to achieve Rs 500 crore turnover by the end of current financial year. The Minister issued instructions to SICOP to submit Detailed Project Reports for carrying out infrastructure upgradation in the existing industrial estates which include facilities like power, water, drainage, road network etc. He stressed the need for early submission of plans so that necessary funds are organized to execute the much needed works in the existing Industrial Estates of Gangyal, Birpur, Udhampur, Zainakote and Zakura.
