PK stages protest against Justice Sageer’s Report

Jammu, Dec 25: Panun Kashmir today burnt the copies of the Justice Sageer’s Report during a protest demonstration to register their resentment against submission of recommendation of the 5th Working Groups on State-Centre Relations.
According to some eye witness, the police did not allow the activists of Panun Kashmir who were led by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir and Virender Raina, National Spokesperson held a protest demonstration here today at Dogra Chowk but were not allowed to move further due to imposition of Section 144 CrPC in certain areas.
The activists of PK assembled outside MAM Stadium where they held protest demonstration against the Govt. Soon the protesters tried to torched the effigy of Govt which was taken away by the police then the protesters then raised slogans against the state government, Police and finally torched the copy of recommendation of Working Groups on State-Centre relation.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president said that the recommendations of the Working Group are a complete sell-out of the interests of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits, the people of Jammu and Ladakh. The recommendations of the said report have the potential to take the State back to 1952-position and this is a retrograde step as it would dilute the extent of Indian sovereignty in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and tried the statement made in the recommendations of the Working Group regarding Article 370 an inconsistent. He said Panun Kashmir rejects all recommendations of political nature of the Working Group and cautions the people of the State to rise to the occasion and protect their rights as the stake holders of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. ‘Panun Kashmir was the front runner in exposing the duplicity of the government regarding the so-called silent diplomacy and expresses satisfaction that the nationalist forces have come forward to take this movement forward, he said.
Virender Raina, national spokesperson said that PK rejected all recommendations of political nature of the Working Group and cautions the people of the State to rise to the occasion and protect their rights as the stake holders of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kamal Bagati, Prof. M.L.Raina, Vijay Qazi, Ravi Punjabi, P.K.Kaul, R.K.Bhat and Nanaji Dembi also participated in this protest.
