| Cabinet to clear procedure for selecting migrant youths | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 25: The state cabinet is scheduled to meet on December 30 to review the overall political and security situation in order to prepare its plan for meeting day to day problems during the year that is to set in next week. Official sources said that besides clearing some transfers and postings the cabinet may finalise the procedure for completing the selection of Kashmir migrant youths for 3,000 posts.Under the Prime Minister's package a provision for 6,000 posts has been made out of which the centre will bear wage bill for 3,000 posts and the state Government has to meet the expenses for the remaining 3,000 posts. However, the state Government is yet to issue the required order for earmarking 3,000 posts for the migrant youths. Sources said that the cabinet will discuss the ways and means for encouraging displaced people for returning to the Kashmir valley. The cabinet may also discuss the issue pertaining to digitalization of revenue and land records for which five officials of the Revenue Department had been sent to Delhi for training. The Revenue Minister, Raman Bhalla said that he had already discussed the matter with the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who too seems keen to get land and revenue records digitalized which would leave no scope for the junior Revenue officials to tamper with the land settlement records.
