| Christmas celebrated with enthusiasm, religious fervor | | | Sarita Jamwal
Udhampur Dec 25- Christmas was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervor all over the district. Churches were decorated tastefully to mark the occasion. The main function was organized in the union church of city where mass prayer was held in which hundreds of people took part.
The carol singing party from North Eastern states, which come here every year to mark the occasion, presented Christmas song and dance which enthralled every one present here. Special prayers were held for the establishment of peace in the trouble-torn state. The people exchanged greetings and distributed sweets.
Speaking on the occasion, Father prayed for peace and brotherhood and appealed the people to follow the path of lord Jesus He said one should introspect himself which can help in development of world and bringing peace in the world .He added that Jesus came to earth not to advocate for any particular religion but for the welfare and peace of entire humanity. Beside the Union Church, Christmas celebrations were organized in Happy Model School, Little Flower Convent School and by young Christen Association near forest office today in which Deputy Commissioner Ajay Khajuria was chief guest. Singing to the tune of drums, artists sang songs in praise of Jesus Christ on the occasion and presented other colorful items
