| Tarigami concerned over inadequacy of essentials | | Demands adequate ration, dependable power supply | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 26- CPI (M) State Secretary and MLA Kulgam M.Y.Tarigami has urged the government to fulfill its commitment of keeping ration and other essential commodities readily available to the consumers during the winter season.
In a statement issued here today Tarigami expressed deep concern over the inadequacy of essentials including food grains and kerosene oil in rural and far flung areas in Kashmir Valley.
Tarigami observed that the administration in the valley seems to have gone into inertia following Darbar Move and the people are left to fend themselves under harsh winter and sub-zero temperatures. Tarigami said despite repeated government announcements, power scenario in the state is constantly worsening with consumers facing unscheduled power cuts, even as he reiterated his demand of earmarking Rs.2.00 crores to each constituency for improvement of electric infrastructure.
The State Secretary CPI (M) called upon the government to be responsive to the basic needs of the people and fulfill their genuine demands. He said widening gap between the government announcements of progress on ground level causes alienation, which does not augur well for the state. |
