| All India Painters’ camp begins at Rajouri | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Dec 26-Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajouri- Poonch range, SD Jamwal inaugurated five day All India Painters’ Camp at Himalayan Education Mission School here on Saturday.
Complimenting Cultural Academy for organizing such camps Jamwal said that it was because of Academy’s backing and patronage that the art of painting was thriving even in far off places like Rajouri.
About 1,000 people visited the camp site today. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Nissar Rahi, Moulana Din Mohammed, Farooq Muztar and Moulana Lal Din.
The function was presided over by Choudhary Gulzar Ahmad, former MLC, while BJP district president Kuldeep Raj was the guest of honour.
Earlier, Special Officer Culture, OP Sharma gave a brief background of the entire activity and informed that the Cultural Academy had been organizing painting camps since 1968 and would continue to hold these in future also.
Myriad painter’s of repute from far off places like Amritsar, Maharashtra, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are participating in this All India Painting camp which would continue for four days.
The prominent painters participating in the camp include Baldev Ghambir from Amritsar, ND Jamwal from Jammu, Aftab Ahmad from Srinagar, Ram Shabad Singh from Saharanpur UP, Ram Biranjan from Kurukshetra Haryana, Dr. Mumta Singh from Dehra Dun, Samar Singh Thakur from Maharashtra, and Kanu Patel from Gujarat.
