| Court rejects bail of Allam Din, militant’ conduit | | | Jammu, October, 07- Second Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. AK Koul today rejected the bail application of Allam Din a conduit of militants, who had received money for passing it on to the militant. While rejecting the bail application of petitioner/accused, who was booked u/s 17/21 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act after hearing Advocate Kishore Kumar appearing for the petitioner and APP Mr. Ravinder Sharma appearing for the state and also perusing the record, the Judge observed that the charge against the petitioner is that he was in the possession of an amount of Rs 36,000 meant for the militants of Hizbul-Mujahidin outfit lodged in Kot-Bhalwal Jail Jammu and also a cell phone was recovered from his possession outside the main gate of Kot-Bhalwal jail, he was sent to interrogation center Jammu for sustained interrogation. The DySP JIC submitted its report in which it has been stated that the petitioner was a conduit of militants, who had received money for passing on to the militants and the accused is involved in a Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Mr. AK Koul further observed that the offences against the accused carry a punishment up to life and also to fine, so, by all means the offences which petitioner is said to have been committed are grave in nature, not only because of the severity of the punishment but for the reason that terrorism is a growing menace and has spared none and India is facing the onslaught since last one and a half decade. A person, who aids any militant outfit, in any manner, is as harmful for the society as the perpetrator of the brutal crimes. So far as the facts on record till date are concerned, Court find that there is sufficient material on record which shows the complicity of the petitioner in the commission of crime attributed to him. Any leniency towards such elements of the society would mean to strengthen their ends and if that happens, Court may be answerable to the society. With these observations the Court dismissed the bail application of the accused. JNF
