| Tributes paid to Bhat on his 20th death anniversary | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, DECEMBER 27- Minister for Education and Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed has stressed for inculcating the qualities of truthfulness, amity and brotherhood to redress the issues confronting the people world over. He said Kashmiri Pandits have suffered a lot during the last 20 years of turmoil by migrating to other parts of the country leaving behind their hearths. Peerzada said that the Government is committed to mitigate their problems and ensure their safe return to the Valley. While paying tributes to late Prem Nath Bhat on his 20th death anniversary at Abhinav Theatre, auditorium here today, he said that the late luminary was a torch bearer of secularism, who led the community in right direction and endeavored for maintaining communal harmony in the State. Peerzada recalled his contribution in various fields of life, particularly while rendering social service to the needy and downtrodden people in South Kashmir. The late Bhat was a sober man and a philanthropist having warmth and love for all human beings irrespective of caste, creed and religion, the Minister maintained. The Minister said that late Bhat an advocate by profession was also a journalist of par excellence, a writer of repute and a patriot to the core. Member Parliament, Dr. Mehboob Beg, while paying tributes to Prem Nath Bhat, said that he was a secular, democratic, upright and a prolific writer who served the people with missionary zeal and worked for strengthening the composite culture of the society. Dr. Beg said that Pandits were a source of inspiration for the people of the Valley and called for reviving the age old bonds of mutual brotherhood. He stressed the need for taking up their rehabilitation on priority basis. Dr. Beg recalled his personal association with late Bhat, saying that his qualities of idealism and high thinking have left indelible impact on him. MLA Nagrota also paid tributes to late Prem Nath Bhat on the occasion. A large number of intellectuals were also present on the occasion.
