| ‘No nationalist would allow reversal of integration process’: Prof Chaman | | |

Jammu, Dec 27: MLA Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta strongly indicted the congress alleging that this dynastic body was responsible for most of the ills facing the nationalist India in Jammu and Kashmir. And observed that Jammu has been politically subjugated but for communal considerations weighing high with the leadership of it.
Addressing a sammelan of the BJP activists here at Hazuri Bagh Talab Tillo, Prof. Gupta said that having little vision about the problems facing the people of this trouble state, the congress led UPA government is fiddling with the situation resulting in more problems than any solution.
In this regard, he pointed out that under the slogan of Quiet Diplomacy, volatile situation has been crated and instead of any peace or light towards any solution, more noise and more tensions have been generated.
Castigating over the statement of the Pradesh Congress, chief, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz that the rights of all regions, moreso of Jammu would be fully protected, be alleged that the Congress leadership had always played foul with the patriotic forces, especially the region of Jammu.
Listing the follies of the Congress leadership, he recalled that when the Indian constitution was being framed after the independence of the country, from Kashmir valley three top leaders including Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah, Mirza Afzal Beg and Moulana Mosoodi were inducted in the constituent assembly but from Jammu a little known political figure was taken to fill up the blank.
In this constitution framing body, first of all an attempt was made to totally abolish the name of Jammu and it was proposed only Kashmir. But for the vision of some far sighted members from Bengal and some others, the name of Jammu was also retained and the state was named as Jammu and Kashmir, he added and also pointed that only Kashmiri was included in the eight schedule as a language of this state. It was after 55 years that during NDA rule headed by Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee that the Dogri language got recognition in 2003, when it was included in the eight schedule.
Prof. Gupta maintained that there is a long history that how Jammu has been subjugated but it was a strange statement of the PCC president that his party would protect the rights of Jammu people although the fact remains that Congress too, is guilty alongwith NC and others for this crime.
Accusing the NC of being guided always by the communal consideration, the Prof said that if they are really secular and nationalists, what is the wrong in the Indian constitution that they are opposed to its application and are depriving the people of this unfortunate state from their basic and democratic rights enshrined the constitution of India.
He said that it was strange phenomenon that the members of the state for Lok Sabha as also that of Rajya Sabha take part in the framing of laws for the entire country but these laws do not apply to this state and thus, a ridiculous situation has been created.
The gathering was also addressed by Mandal Preisdent Chander Mohan Gupta, corporator Pushpa Wazir , Ayodhya Gupta, Ashok Kumar, Kanshi Nath Razdan, Chuni Lal Raina, Bansi Lal Pandita and other were present in the meeting.
