Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 27- Jammu State Morcha (Progressive) has called upon the Jammuties to observe complete bandh on Monday to show their solidarity in opposing the report of Justice Sageer Ahmed on centre-state relationship, which it called ad communal, pro-secessionist and biased against the Nationalist people of Jammu, Ladakh and even those of Kashmir Valley. The Morcha has also impressed upon the Government of India for the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir State with creation of separate States for Jammu and Ladakh regions as in such a situation where the aspirations of the people of these regions are always ignored and are constantly being discriminated against and treated as slaves can not be tolerated further, the Morcha said.
Addressing media persons here JSM President Verinder Gupta has strongly condemned this report that has recommended more Autonomy to the State and out rightly rejected the aspirations and the issues concerning the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions. It is a report of a communally biased person showing special favours to the National Conference and the secessionist elements of the Valley and has been prepared under the dictation of the National Conference leaders. Granting more autonomy means empowering these communal and separatist Kashmiri leaders to keep increasing their hegemony over other regions, he added.
Regretting that the members of the Working Group were not taken into confidence and the genuine demands of the people of Jammu and those of the Ladakh region along-with that of Kashmiri Pandits have been out rightly rejected, the Morcha President said Justice Saghir has shown his lack of understanding and perception on various issues concerning the state and in particular then people of Jammu and Ladakh. The report vindicates the stand of Jammu State Morcha that so long Jammu region remains part of one State of Jammu and Kashmir it is always going to be treated as colony of Kashmir Valley, its people would not get justice and their aspirations would continuously be ignored. The issues pertaining to POK displaced persons, West Pakistan refugees, Gujjars and Pahari people would always remain unattended and unresolved, the Gupta maintained. It urged the Centre to reject the report and take steps to redress their sufferings and grievances.
Abdul Rouf Ganai, H.B.Khajuria, Capt. Anil Gour, Swarn Sharma, Dig Vijay Singh, Chandra Uday Sharma, Virender Magotra, Divender Singh Jamwal, Balvinder Singh and Surjeet Singh were also present at the press conference.
