Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 27: Inspector Sultan Mirza, lodged in Kot-Bhalwal jail along with SSP Manohar Singh for their alleged role in the fudging of weapon of offence in Amandeep Murder Case, was today given two days permission by the court to attend the funeral of his younger brother.
Sultan's younger brother --Zameel Mirza -- died at his District Police Lines (DPL) Quarter No 33-D all of a sudden Saturday night. He was preparing for KAS exams. As their parents live in their ancestral house at Neti in Rajouri, Zameel's body was taken by the family members to Neti this morning.
When Sultan was told about his younger brother's death this morning, he approached the court through his lawyer to leave him on parole so that he could attend the funeral.
After hearing the lawyer, the court gave him permission of two days to attend the last rites of his brother. The court also directed that
during these two days, he would remain "under heavy police escort".
A police officer said Sultan left Jammu for Neti at about 4 pm.
