JAMMU: In view of ensuing festivals, the Deputy Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Jammu has informed the general public that the sale rates of Phenyias and Katlammas fixed by the department during 2005 shall remain continue as Rs. 120 per kg (loose) prepared in Desi Ghee and Rs. 70 per kg (loose) prepared in Vanaspati. The VAT as applicable shall be charged extra against proper cash memo/ bill. Any of the sweet shops found selling these on higher rates shall be booked under the Essential Commodities Act 1955. The shopkeepers selling Phenyias and Katlammas are advised to adhere to the directions, failing which strict action shall be taken against the defaulters. The general public can lodge their complaint of any such overcharging on telephone nos. 2502607 and 2502608.
