Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 28- Breaking silence after six long months, the alleged accused in the marks tampering in University of Jammu (JU), Tarsem Raj Sharma has made a public statement alleging that he was being harassed and made scapegoat while the real culprits were being shielded.
Addressing media-persons here today, Sharma (a Head Assistant in JU), sought the intervention of Chancellor (Governor) and Pro-Chancellor (Chief Minister) of the University in the matter to unravel the truth, as he is being allegedly victimized and harassed owing to his innocence.
“In the name of inquiry into the marks tampering case, the authorities of University of Jammu (JU) have victimized me and now are trying to fix the responsibility of the same on me’, he alleged.
Since over five months, I have been on suspension and waiting for further orders from their side to actually getting to know about the facts that led the authorities to suspend me. Continuously for the last four months, I have been knocking the doors of University authorities to know the reason behind my suspension and the further processing of the case but regretted that instead of clearing the confusion the authorities were lingering on the issue for the reasons best known to them.
‘Unable to bear the harassment, I have now decided to bring the facts in front of the public with a hope that justice will be done to me’, he added.
Sharma, who is bearing the humiliation of being a tainted employee since June 2009, demanded that report of the enquiry committee in respect of marks tampering be made public. He also urged the authorities to clear his suspension and restore his dignity and respect and punish the actual culprits.
